I’d toss Bioshock Infinite on here, but the songs are all covers made for the game, though they’re fantastic. To cheer things up, here are some great licensed soundtracks: There are better licensed soundtracks out there, but I don’t think I’d say Paradise is hot garbage.

This has some pretty good rock Guns N Roses, Faith No More, Badmotorfinger Soundgarden (not a fan of anything they did post-Badmotorfinger), Jane’s Addiction, Adam and the Ants, Depeche Mode, Alice in Chains.Junkie XL.plus the classical selection is pretty good, if not overly familiar.Įven the Avril Lavigne and Twisted Sister songs are fun, if not great on their own.Īs far as making a soundtrack of mostly popular rock tunes, and despite some of the music truly being egregious, nasally pop-punk garbage, they manage to get a handful of good tunes in there. I dunno.most licensed soundtracks, I turn off almost all the music. So am I alone here or do others share my apathy for this soundtrack? What's your go-to custom soundtrack for playing games? Spotify/Google Play links would be most welcome! This is a go to playlist for any driving game actually, I did the same for Forza Horizon 3. I think I made it about 2 hours with this game before completely turning off the sound track and loading up "The Realest Summer Jams" Spotify playlist.

Albeit, it would be EVEN nicer if the PS4 would support networked shared servers for my music but that's for another day. But in times like these, it's nice to use the PS4 spotify integration. I rarely use custom soundtracks in games, I'm probably one of 3 people in the world who select "loop music" in World of Warcraft. There's definitely more artists on the soundtrack, but outside of a single Sound Garden or Alice in Chains tune, the rest of them are not total bangers either. I'm talking about Brand New, Army of Me, Maxeen, Saosin, Senses Fail, and Killswitch Engage.

The original release of Paradise was in 2008 and thus samples a lot of that hot emo/scremo/hardcore action. I played at/went to the near by Church to hear all the local bands while the Youth Pasteur talks about scriptures in between sets. I played in the 2-3 garage bands which was comprised with two-thirds of the same people. Now I never liked most generic emo music all that much, but I was very much into the post-hardcore and admittedly scremo scene. I attended high school from 03-07, right in the tick of the emo scene. If Burnout Paradise has forced me to confront one aspect from my past, it is that the music from my high school age was complete garbage. It's not even about one of the most generic Guns N Roses' song, which shares the name of the game, and that plays every time you start the game.I'm talking about all that hot circa mid 2000's post-hardcore/emo pop-punk music! Playing game remasters often provides a time capsule of how games were developed as well as the general culture landscape from the past. And no, this isn't a thread about Avril Lavgines "Girlfriend".
